Today on Saturday Early Morning, two Two Death Sentenced Prisoners who were in Mirpur District Jail hanged to death. District and Session Judge Kotli awarded death sentenced for both culprits this decision was kept by High Court and Supreme Court as well after trial. President of Azad Kashmir, also rejected mercy appeals.

Ghanzafar Ali son of Ghazan killed in Uncle Raja Illayas a Vice Thesildar of Kotli District. Ghanzafar Ali was awarded death sentenced by District and Session Judge on 19 May 2005. Then he appealed in Shariat Court against the decision, On 26 May 2011 Shariat court dismissed the appeal and kept the Death Sentence. Again appeal was dismissed by Supreme Court of Azad Kashmir on 13 April 2015 and kept death sentence for him. On 28 May 2016 President Azad Kashmir rejected mercy appeal of Ghanzafar Ali and release black warrants to execute his death sentence on 6 May 2016.

Second Prisoner Muhammad Yaqoob son Raj Muhammad Cast Malik Stabbed an Imam Mosque and killed him outside of Masjid after Fajar Prayer in Mathli Village of Tatta Pani, Kotli on 4 September 2006.

He was awarded death sentenced by District and Session Judge Kotli on 23 May 2007. All other high courts rejected his appeals and kept death sentence for him.

Both Prisoners Death sentenced for to be executed on 6 May 2016 but on last moments President Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob Khan postponed death sentence family members requested they are negotiating with victims family. Both Victims family did not agree for reconciliation and again black warrants to execute their death sentence for issued on 30 July 2016.

Today morning both Prisoners were hanged to death and their dead bodies were handed over to their family members. Both belong to District Kotli of Azad Kashmir.
