Cab driver Tahir Shabir Khan, 29, resident of Granville Street in Keighley, died when his car left the Aire Valley trunk road and plunged down an embankment on Wednesday, May 24, on the A629 at Steeton at about 9.30am.
Tahir Shabir Khan, born and brought-up in Keighley, he attended the former Greenhead Grammar School – now University Academy Keighley. He worked at McDonald’s in Skipton for about 4 years and in February this year, he began working as a self-employed driver for Silsden & Steeton Private Hire.
His sister, Robina Kousar, said: “We are all heartbroken at tragic loss.
Everyone remembers him for always being so kind, gentle and humble. He had a wonderful, warm smile and a great personality. His friends remember him for his generosity and caring nature. He would often go out of his way to help others.
Councillor Zafar Ali a close family friend said he was devastated when he heard the news. May Allah bless his soul rest in peace and give his family members Sabar o bear such a great loss.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team at West Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting log *0465 of 24 May.
