Khalid Mehmood running a Sweet shop with his elder brother Tariq in Layyah, mixed the pesticides bottle in the sweets being bake in shop. Those sweets were bought by Local citizen Umer Hayat celebrating his grand son birthday which killed dozens at party.

Khalid Mehmood confessed in a court that he had poisoned the sweets to take revenge from his elder brother Tariq, who “often use to beat him” in a business dispute.

During investigation he confessed, “I was so angry that I wanted to teach him a lesson and I mixed a pesticides bottle in the sweets being baked at that time.”

52 people had eaten the sweets. Birthday Celebrating baby, lost his Fahter, 6 of his uncles and 1 aunt who ate those sweets among 30 others who died including 5 Children. 4 persons are still in hospital. 8 people of one family died in revenge of sweets shop brother’s.

Police arrested, Khalid Mehmood his elder brother Tariq and their one employee. They are due to appear in court in central Punjab province.
