Khari Shareef (6th September2014-Bureau Report) Several people entrapped in River Jhelum Bela were rescued to safer grounds.

At night, the people were notified by the District Administration to evacuate the area. In the area of Bela, Opposite Qazi Chak, numerous cattle and belongings of the public were under flood and while rescuing them many people went missing, for these people a rescue operation is still underway.

The people living near the river banks including Master Mohammad Iqbal, Ashfaq Ahmed, Muddassir Hussain, Saiyn Muzzamil Malik, Tanveer Ahmed, Malik Bashir Ahmed, and others, while talking to journalists said that it is the responsibility of the government to protect the life and possessions of the people. Before this our houses were destroyed due to flood and now again our cattle, possessions and houses have been ruined. We have nowhere to go and no one to look up to, therefore, immediate relief should be provided.
