Update on Samia Shahid, 28, of Bradford Murder Case in Mangla Jhelum

Samia Shahid, a beauty therapist from Bradford, died on Wednesday while visiting parents in Pandori village near Mangla Dam in Jhelum District of Punjab. She was buried in her village graveyard after postmortem. In postmortem, there were no visible injuries or signs of violence on her body.

Her second husband Syed Mukhtar Kazam son of Iftikhar Kazam resident of Sultanpur Texila, who resides in Dubai claims its not a natural death infect she is murdered by her parents and her first husband named Shakil (who is also her first cousin).

Samia Shahid left her first husband and married Syed Mukhtar Kazam whom she fall in love. Couple married in Leeds town hall at 17 September 2014. After marriage Samia Shahid started living with her husband Syed Mukhtar Kazam in Sharja Dubai.

Syed Mukhtar Kazam filed a case in Mangla Police station against parents and Ex Husband of Samia Shahid, he said, Samia’s father Muhammad Shahid, Cousin Mubeen and ex husband Shakil often threaten her on phone calls to kill her.

But after some period Muhammad Shahid agreed to accept the couple as husband and wife and win their trust. on 11th June 2016 Samia’s mother Imitaz BB talked to Samia on phone and said your father is ill and in critical condition and you should come Pakistan to see him.

Samia Shahid’s sister named Madiah Shahid booked a ticked for her to pay visit in Pakistan, on 14 Sep 2016. When Samia Shahid reached Pakistan she found her father fine and well. And Samia Shaid talked to her husband Syed Mukhtar Kazam on late night 20 Sep 2016 on phone and told her life is in danger.

Next morning on 20 Sep 2016 Syed Mukhtar Kazam called Samia Shahid’s cousin Mubeen, who told him that Samia died of heart of attack.

The family strongly deny Syed Mukhtar Kazam’s claims. Her father, who is in Pakistan, said the allegations made by Syed Mukhtar Kazam were “lies and allegations” against him. “An investigation is under way and if I am found guilty I am ready for every kind of punishment,” he said. “My daughter was living a very peaceful and happy life. She had come to Pakistan on her own and was not under any pressure from her family.”

Mangla Police has registered an FIR and started investigation.

Rest in Peace Samia Shahid. A young life taken so soon. Samia Shahid was describe as full of life and lovely girl. Usually in Pakistani families such relationship among Low and High Birdaris and among different sects, especially in Sunni and Shia are not accepted. Also marriages among sunni or shia if works, their generation face problems as which sect to accept or practice either mother side or father side sect. Also in back home Pakistan its a kinds insult if their girls marry someone abroad without their approval. They have to face so many questions from people, neighbors and relatives around.
