Christine, a Dubai-based law graduate, after XPRESS published a report highlighting the plight of the 40-year-old along with her mother Lynette, 62, and sister Sherry, 32, last week. She received messages and offers from people who wanted to help them, but a Pakistani man sent Christine a shocking message on her phone. Below is the message sent by Pakistani man to British Woman.
You are from British (sic) right? I am Pakistani. I am looking for a British girl to get married. Then I will also help you. Are you interested?
Christine said, It’s easy for people to take advantage under such circumstances. It’s the same with the job situation. Some people ask for your CV because they are nosy. When you chase them up, they say they have no vacancies. Or they will try and offer you a salary that is very low.
She said although many people had reached out to them, they had not landed any interview for possible employment. “We just hope someone will be able to give us a job, so we can work and repay our debts.”
Christine said she is banking on hope and wished that their lives would return to normal as soon as possible.
