The 39-year-old truck driver Naz Ali, resident of Halesowen, who had never eaten the meat in line with his faith, had gone to Farmer John’s in Aldridge Road, Streetly B74 2DX, with his wife, their 11-year-old twins and a friend and his two children and ordered a burger and the side of chilli cheese fries, which contained a meat he assumed was chicken.
After eating about a quarter of the dish he realized its not chicken, when checked with a waitress, who went back in kitchen to confirmed.
Food was in mouth of truck driver Naz Ali, when waitress came back and said she was really, really sorry because it was pork. Naz Ali spat it out and went to the toilet.
He claimed all his party was given were free desserts consisting of four chocolate cakes for the group’s children.
Naz Ali said, Muslims don’t eat pork and restaurants should be aware of what people of different religions can and can’t eat.
A spokesman for pub said: ‘We are sorry for Mr Ali’s experience, we have apologised and all costs for his table were waived on the day.”
