Naveed Yasin, 37, an NHS surgeon who had spent 48 hours trying to save Manchester attack victims injured in Monday night’s devastating attack at Manchester Arena, was called a Paki and a Terrorist on his way back into work.
Naveed was travelling back into work at Salford Royal Hospital when a white middle-aged man lowered his car window racially abused him by saying, You brown P*** bastard! Go back to your country, you terrorist. We don’t want you people here. F*** off.’
The target of the van driver’s fury was a trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who had spent the previous 48 hours working to save the victims of last week’s bomb attack. Yasin, 37, was driving to Salford Royal Hospital to continue treating them.
Dr Yasin, an orthopaedic surgeon, was born in Keighley in West Yorkshire, but now lives in Manchester with his wife and two daughters.
Dr. Naveed Yasin said, his elder daughter Amelia, 11, wanted to go to the Ariana Grande concert, but me and my wife Firdaus stopped her from going as it was on a school night.
He said among the injured victims whom he treated for 48 hours, could be his daughter, but just because of his brown color he is abused and face racist comments.
