On 27 January 2016 NAB accompanied by police came to Mirpur to collect incriminating evidence against son of former PM AJK Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain. They met up with district magistrate who ordered Assistant Raja Kaiser Aurangzeb, DSP headquarter Raja Abdul Qayum to accompany NAB to former PM’s house.

NAB armed with police escort and the above mentioned personalities arrived at Raja Zulfiqar’s home residence. An argument that when a bit out of context resulted in Deputy Director NAB Asgar Ali being severely injured. He was immediately taken to DHQ hospital for medical care. According to City Police SHO Rashid Habib and FIR has been filled against Raja Kaiser Zulqarnain and Umar Zulqarnain.

According to National Accountability Bureau 825 million rupees has been recovered from owners of rental power plants after NAB filled an application suggesting corruption and subsequent court orders from Supreme Court.
When this application was filed 28 people including Raja Babar Zulqarnain were arrested and asked to share their bank statements to prove that no transactions went into their accounts. Raja Babar Zulqarnain had appealed to be released on bail but Islamabad High Court dismissed this request.

This case has an ongoing status for the past two years. Speculations about the date on which it will be put to rest remain vague as the guilty party do their best to dally and prolong.
