Khari Shareef (6th September2014-Bureau Report) Due to heavy downpour multiple houses situated near the banks of River Jehlum collapsed and water entered the surrounding land.

Hundreds of people were forced to evacuate as the District Administration Mirpur has issued a flood warning to the population living on the banks of river Jehlum.

Army Officials, District Administration visited the affected areas, Political and socially prominent personalities including MQM Parliamentary Leader and Government Minister Tahir Khokhar, Member Assembly Ch Arshad Hussain, Former Minister Ch Rukhsar Ahmed and media representative expressed their solidarity with the affected and assured them to find a solution for their problems.

The volunteers of Dua-e- Abbas Trust, Al-Fazal Welfare Center, Chak Mughalai and Al-Mujtaba Welfare Center helped the affected to move their belongings to sfer area and distributed relief goods and food among them.
