Mehreen Ahmad, a 30 years old Pakistani American Girl who was studying primary education, was found unconscious in a stairwell in a Murray Street apartment block, in a pool of her own blood on at 2.05am on Saturday.

She remains in intensive care at Royal Perth Hospital, police said. Blood was found across multiple levels of the stairwell

Mehreen Ahmad was attacked by Eduardo Santos Abrahao Filho – whom she had been introduced to earlier that night

It’s alleged the pair was with a group of friends who ended up at the Murray Street unit, but when Mehreen Ahmad left to get cigarettes and she never returned and ended up in intensive care at Perth Hospital.

Eduardo Santos Abrahao Filho, 27, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
He has been refused bail and appeared in court on Sunday, police said.

The case is still under investigation and the police is still fighting to get Mehreen the justice she deserves, while Mehreen herself remains in intensive care, fighting for her life.

Mehreen’s parents flew to from their Dubai home on Sunday to be with her. Her family and friends describe her as a kind, caring and loving person. Here’s hoping Mehreen gets to be back on her legs soon.
