Femi Omotoso, 26, of Tudor Gardens, Wealdstone, was charged with the murder of Mohamed Al-Zufairi, 34, on Monday, February 27 outside the Halifax bank in High Street, Wealdstone, at 6.50pm.
Father of two was taken to a central London hospital but died at 2.30am on Tuesday morning. A post-mortem examination report at Northwick Park Hospital described the death of Mohamed Al-Zufairi from a single stab wound to the heart.
The shops were closed and buses were diverted as police sealed off a 50-yard stretch of the high street early for a forensics team searched for clues on the day of stabbing.
Mohamed Al-Zufairi’s brother, Ali, told the Standard the stabbing happened as Mr al-Zufairi’s eight year old daughter bought sweets in a pound shop just yards away.
“I was nearby and received a call saying my brother had been stabbed”, he said.
Omotoso appeared in custody at a London magistrates’ court on Monday (March 6).
