Punjab Law Minister admitting a security lapse, he said police failed to maintain a high level security due to massive participation of people in the protest sit-in.

Sources say negotiations were on going between protesters and administration for ending the protest when the blast occurred. A protest was being staged by drug dealers against the Drug Act introduced by the Punjab Government and hundreds of people were present there when the incident occurred.

SSP Gondal of Punjab Police also Martyred at Lahore Bomb Blast.
Several people were reportedly injured when a bomb blast occurred near Punjab Assembly, Charing Cross, an area of Lahore, here on Monday 13 February 2017.
Many vehicles were parked near the blast site had caught fire, triggering panic and chaos in the area. Window Glasses of many building are broken in the area.
According to eye witness The explosion was caused when a man riding a motorcycle collided with a vehicle. those injured were rushed to nearby Mayor Hospital.
