Jasmin Abuslin, now 19, who ‘slept with dozens of Oakland police officers’ over several years dating back to when she was 16, has bee awarded $1million after suing the Oakland city.
The Sandal was highlighted last year when she began sharing her allegations. After which it has tied to suicide of one police officer and prompted the firing of several from different law enforcement agencies across the city.
Jasmin Abuslin, was awarded $989,000 by a court in the Californian city – a fraction of the $66million she had been asking for on this Wednesday.
She told, some police officers encouraged her to keep working on the streets and one of them tried to act as her pimp, renting her out a hotel room and telling her what to wear to find clients.
Several times she was warned by these police officers to avoid the hot spots where undercover missions was going to be carried on to catch call girls.
7 police officers have been charged for their involvement in the scandal. One killed himself in 2015 after she threatened to expose the fact they had had sex when she was 17.
She is the daughter of a female police dispatcher in Oakland Her mother has never spoken publicly of the case.
$1Million Award was paid to her for the settlement agreement to let her get on with the life and her healing.
