The Harlem rapper spoke about his conversion in a new video from the “I Am Def Jam” series. While in Baltimore he was incarcerated for a little and met a fellow in cell who was Muslim.
I was watching him pray every day, and his outlook on getting out of that situation was a lot more positive than the other dudes that were Muslim in the jail.
He converted to Islam while in prison. He said: “Islma helped me develop a better attitude and brought a discipline to my life that I didn’t really have before”.
He said media tries to show negative side of Islam, Media is not show the peaceful side of Islam. Deep down in my heart and what I’ve seen and what I’ve been around, there is nothing better than Islam.”
He said the History Channel and Islam are helps ease his mind, body and soul from the industry chaos. Dave’s strong Muslim faith has guided him through life’s hurdles when there was no one to call on but Allah.
He wishes more people had a better understanding of his religion and asked them to study Islam and Quran to really know what brings peace to the heart, mind and soul.
