A man killed his wife, a couple of days after their marriage, and committed suicide by shooting himself in Sipyali Village of Gujar Khan, couple tied knot just two days ago.

Muhammad Razaq father of groom Afzaal, stated that his son, Muhammad Afzal had married his cousin on April 25 and just two days after, he heard a loud gunshots from his room.

“After hearing the horrifying gunshots, I rushed to his room and found my daughter-in-law’s body laying covered with blood and my son died on the spot after he fatally shot himself in the head”.

Razaq added that he did not know the cause of dispute between the newly-wed couple.

A senior police officer said that Afzaal argued with his cousin Tayyaba whom he married just two days ago, over some issue and shot her dead. Later, the man also killed himself with pistol.

Police are investigating the reason behind the killings of couple, he said. Police have also recorded the statement of Afzal’s brother and are awaiting results of the postmortem.

Officials claimed that the investigation into the incident would be concluded in a few days.
