A 50-year-old man has denied murdering his ex-wife and dumping her body in a suitcase.
Ashwin Daudia pleaded not guilty to killing Kiran Daudia during an appearance before a judge at Leicester Crown Court via video-link from prison.
The father-of-two will appear for a further hearing on June 12 and face trial at the same court on June 26.
Update: Ex-husband Ashwin Daudia, 50, charged with her murder after being arrested. The couple had been married for 20 years and have two adult sons from marriage. They divorced in 2015, after which Kiran Daudia was trying to move on in her life.
Dead body of Kiran Daudia aged 46, was discovered in Evington, Leicester, on Tuesday morning by a member of public in an alleyway between two terraced homes.
Kiran had worked in call center for over 17 years and is had two adult sons. Police urged witnesses who may have seen anyone pulling a suitcase with wheels in the area on Monday evening to come forward.
Later Police took her ex husband, Ashwin Daudia, 50, of Lyme Road, Leicester, in their custody and suspected murder of Kiran Daudia and who appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on today Thursday morning.
A postmortem is due to be carried out on Kiran’s dead body to get the facts on how she died. Police started door-to-door enquires and have appealed for witnesses who may have seen anyone pulling a suitcase, with wheels, in the area in late afternoon or early evening of Monday, to contact police.
Her devastated family said, she was a much loved mother, daughter, sister and aunt, she is going to be missed deeply.
The community members are in shocked after they heard the news of woman’s dead body stuffed in suitcase, they said, it’s shocking to think someone could put a body in a suitcase and dump it in an alleyway. It doesn’t feels safe nay more thinking such people lives in between the peaceful community, where every one knows each other.
