Chakswari (8th September2014) The Implementation of Emergency in Rural Health Center Chakswari proved to be drama as the Senior Medical Officer was found sitting at his home after switching of his mobile phone. On the instruction of DHO, the ambulance of RHC Chakswari was sent to the home of the Senior Medical Officer.
The public is demanding immediate dismissal of the negligent medical officer.
According to details due to the continuously increasing water levels in Mangla Dam and the continuous rains, the DG Health has implemented Emergency in all the Hospitals of Azad Kashmir and the staff was ordered to be on duty all the time but the orders could not be carried out in Chakswari.
On Sunday Morning, when an unidentified corpse was found floating on Mangla Dam, when the police contacted the Rural Health Center Chakswari for a medical consult , the Senior Medical Officer was not available and his phone was also switched off. When the journalists of Chakswari reached the RHC at 10:45am, the Senior Medical Officer was still unavailable with his phone switched off. The staff present at RHC told the reporters that they are trying to reach the doctor but his phone is off.
The journalists of Chakswari notified the DC Mirpur and DHO Mirpur about the situation. Later, DHO Mirpur sent the ambulance of RHC Chakswari to bring the doctor from his home. Finally the Senior Medical Officer reached the center at 1pm.
The public sectors have expressed extreme anger over the situation and have demanded immediate dismissal of the negligent medical officer.
