Hamza Din, 27, is alleged to have made an ‘unwarranted demand’ of money from boxer Amir Khan, Hamza is accused of blackmailing British boxer Amir Khan on March 27, 2016. The case was sent to Bolton Crown Court ahead of a hearing on October 31, 2016. Hamza Din, from Durham, remains on unconditional bail until next hearing.

Hamza Din, 27 from Durham is alleged to “on March 27 at Middlesbrough with a view to gain for yourself or another or with intent to cause loss to another, made an unwarranted demand of money from Bolton base Boxer Amir Khan with menaces”.

Hamza Din, of Old Dryburn Way, in Durham, and previously of Marton-in-Cleveland in Cleveland, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The case was sent to Bolton Crown Court where there will be hearing on October 31.
