Boxer Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom to Adopt an Orphan Child

Bolton boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom are going to adopt an orphan child. Pair opened up about at a fundraising concert held at London’s Troxy on Saturday night (April 29).

Amir Khan who has already commissioned an orphanage in The Gambia and now plans to build another in Pakistan. When Amir Khan went to Gambia, a country in West Africa, to help the needy on behalf of his foundation and was greatly moved after witnessing the condition of children over there.

Amir Khan said: “I would love to adopt. I go to a lot of these places. When I was in Africa, I met so many young African kids and I loved them. I wanted to take them back home with me. It’s a bit tougher than that. There’s one boy that was really good and I said to my friend Riz, ‘I’m going to take him back home.”

Amir Khan said “I wished to take every child with him, but started this good work by adopting one child.

Faryal Makhdoom said, “Our religion teaches us to take care of orphans, and we had planned to adopt a child from the beginning.

Amir Khan said he wants to make as many hospitals and orphanages as possible to help the people in the poor countries.
