17 years old student died after he drowned in Jari Kas Lake of Mangla Dam in Mirpur. Azan Ahmed was the only son of Assistant General Advocate Muhammad Suleman. His funeral prayer is offered in Kaneeli village of Chakswari Mirpur.

According to details, Azan Ahmed son of Muhammad Suleman resident of Kaneeli Chakswari, who was I Com First year student at Mehran College of Mirpur went to Jari Dam after with his class fellow after School Final Exam.

During swimming he drowned and could not surface, his dead body was found by nearby Army Men. Azan Ahmed was the only child in family and was son of Assistant General Advocate Muhammad Suleman Kaneelvi.

Sudden death of a young boy left family in shock. Funeral Prayer of Azan Ahmed was offered at his native home town in Kaneeli. Where a large number of people including different personalities of area were present.

A lot of deaths are reported every summer in Mirpur area and its outskirts, especially in Mangla Dam, Jari Kas Lake and in Jatlan Head. Young boys gather at these points to beat the heat of summer especially on Ramadan Days. Dam water is deep on different places as it is constructed on hilly area. Many young boys who do not know swimming have lost their lives. Its time for local authorities to take action and pohibt swimming in these areas without life jackets.
