Adnan Shafiq, 17 died in a car accident in Bradford

Adnan Shafiq, 17, was a passenger in a grey Seat Leon which crashed into a traffic sign on Shipley Airedale Road at about 12.15am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police, ambulance services, and fire crews from Bradford, Odsal, and Cleckheaton arrived on the accident spot. The car had flown about four feet in the air before becoming wrapped around the sign.

A large number of people gathered at scene for more than 2 hours while struggling to freeing the driver from the vehicle.

The car, which flipped on to its side and suffered significant damage, is thought to have been the only vehicle involved in the crash.

18-year-old driver of car, suffered pelvic injuries and was still in hospital receiving treatment.

FRIENDS of Adnan have taken to social media to express their sorrow at his death.

Muhammad Ishtiaq Uncle of the Adnan delivered an emotional plea to other youngsters who attended the funeral. He said that lessons needed to be learned from Adnan’s death to avoid this happening again. We do not want to see you coming here, lying here, for yours. 17 is a golden age. We do not want to see this again and again.
