A passenger van fell into a deep ditch near AbbasPur Tehsil of Poonch District of Azad Kashmir. As a result of accident 19 people died and 7 injured. 3 of them are in critical condition.

Passenger van was going to Hajeera from Forward Kahuta. When it reached near Coat Chathaal area of AbbasPur the driver lost control on Van and fell into 5 hundred feet deep mountain. Eight passenger died on spot while 11 passengers who received succumbed wounds died in hospital.

DC Poonch Chaudry Fareed and Assistant Commissioner of AbbasPur Shamim Ashraf told media that majority of passengers who died belong to Forward Kahuta. Most of the people were going to their work places after Eid Holidays.

After accident 10 injured passengers were taken to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital AbbasPur. 4 of whom are said to be in critical condition. Until now 4 people could not be identified after Crash.

According to initial investigation reports of the accident, overloading caused the accident. Van with capacity of 14 seat was stuffed with 30 passengers. AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed expressed grief for accident victims.
