Three ]men stabbed to death in east London yesterday have been identified as builders from India who died after a drunken row over unpaid work turned violent.

The murdered men were named locally as Narinder – Nik – Singh, 26, Harinder – Honey – Kumar, 22, and Baljit Singh, 34.

A local businessman said the men were knifed to death after a large group of Indian men spilled out of a nearby restaurant, screaming and shouting in a furious drunken argument between two groups. They started arguing inside the restaurant and were very drunk. They had been drinking whisky for several hours.

Emergency services were called to the triple murder on Elmstead Road around 7.30pm last night.

Police said in a statement all three men were confirmed dead at the scene, with an eyewitness hearing one victim shouting, “They killed me, help me”.

Police believe the fight involved two groups of Sikh men who knew each other, and a local businessman claims



all three were stabbed to death when builders rowed “over money for unpaid work”.

Reports suggest the men are from India.

One man had been stabbed in the neck, another was smashed in the head with a hammer, and one was heard screaming “they killed me, help me” as he lay dying.
