A district court on Tuesday sent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah on a 14-day judicial remand a day after he was arrested by a team of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on his way to Lahore for possessing “15kg heroin” in his vehicle.
Nabeela Sanaullah, the wife of PML-N MNA Rana Sanaullah claims that the ASI who arrested her husband told her that he got a call at 1:30pm telling him what to do with the PML-N leader.
Nabeela Sanaullah after meeting her husband told, “He told me that a vehicle stopped in front of his car and blocked their way. Three people got out of that car and sat in my husband’s car. They searched the entire car.”
He told me that they even searched the trunk even though they never confirmed it, she said. When he was brought to their office, they showed him a bag and claimed to have found it in his car, she said. “Rana sahab asked why they didn’t show him the bag before, when they were conducting the search.”
She added, An ANF officer told me to ask my servants who kept the bag in my husband’s car. I asked them what was inside it and he said heroin, she added. “I asked him if it was Reema or Meera, as those are the only heroines that I know.”
My husband then told me to stop talking to them, Nabeela remarked. My husband has assured me that he will never speak their language, she said. When NAB couldn’t find anything against us, then what can heroin do, she quoted her husband as saying.
Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions Shehryar Afridi while addressing a press conference alongside the ANF Director General, Maj Gen Muhammad Arif Malik, said the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had “complete footage” of PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah Khan before it moved to arrest him.
Afridi said narcotics agents had been working on leads following an arrest in Faisalabad.
“For approximately three weeks, Rana Sanaullah’s car and movements were monitored at every level,” he stated, adding: “Everything, A to Z, will be presented in court.”
“These are such cruel and dangerous people that we cannot share all the details with you as they can cause people a lot of damage,” Shehryar told the news conference.
“My message for all those who are promoting Rana Sanaullah sahib is that a lot of things attached to this [case] will be brought forward. No one will be allowed to get away. No one is above the law.”
Rana Sanaullah Khan is kept Lahore camp jail, after he was sent to jail on Tuesday on 14-day judicial remand by a district court in Lahore.
