Pakistan International Airlines—PIA has introduced a mobile app in collaboration with a Turkish company—Hitit. The application permit users to book and confirm their flights via their smartphones. It all comes after first anniversary of the alliance between PIA and Hitit.

Now PIA customers can 1) Book a flight 2) Check flight status 3) Check flight schedules 4) View booking details via mobile app. It needs an Android 4.1 and above and has already got more than a hundred thousand downloads. The app size is 26MBs.

The application of the national flag carrier could be downloaded now at the Google Play Store. The app is not available on Apple’s App Store.

The mobile app has user-friendly interface, allowing user to perform a number of functions, including booking their flight right from their mobile devices, monitoring their booking status, and checking the status of their flight. It even generates a digital boarding pass for an easier check-in experience.

“The application has recently been launched and now the air passengers will enjoy better services,” a PIA spokesman told state-run wire service.

“The airliner’s overall seat factor has improved and reached nearly 84 percent



whereas, on some sectors, the seat factor is at 90 percent,” he added.

He said in the recent days, the PIA had also signed an agreement with a private online taxi service to facilitate passengers. As per the agreement, the passengers receive the promo code with their in-flight conformation SMS and get discount on rides.

To a question, he said PIA had earned Rs17 million in over less than two weeks with a paint job for a foreign customer. The experienced PIA team took only ten days to complete the intricate paint job for the foreign airline.
