PIA Domestic Flight Delayed after Bomb Threats were Claimed

A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Flight PK-595 for Sukkur to Karachi was following a bomb threat on Monday. PIA Flight PK-595 for Sukkur to Karachi with the departure time of 2:45 pm on Monday, the information was received just 5 minutes before the take-off.

After Sukkur Police informed Airport Security Force (ASF) about the planted bomb news, authorities immediately stopped the plane just before takeoff, and the passengers were disembarked and the luggage was offloaded as per standard operating procedure.

The bomb disposal squad was called to the airport who after inspecting the plan cleared it. It took more than an hour to inspect the plan, afterwards flight was cleared to take off at 2:45pm.

A PIA spokesperson said that the security of passengers was foremost and the airline would take all the measures necessary to avoid any no untoward incidents.

The



spokesperson for Civil Aviation Authority said that all the measures given in the code of aviation security were being fulfilled and the aircraft in question was swept clear by the bomb squad while all other procedures were followed by the airport staff and security agencies.
