Namrita Chandani a final year student of Bibi Asifa Dental College, Larkana, was found dead in her hostel room on Monday.
Namrita Chandani, belonged to Mirpur Mathelo, a taluka of Ghotki, was found lying her bed with a rope tied to her neck while her room was locked from inside.
Body of Nimrita recieved from hostel room, with bruises on neck suspected suicide but family thinks that she has been killed, a thorough investigation should be conducted and if found homicide culprits should be arrested.
The body was shifted to the district headquarter hospital for postmortem, but the police awaited her parents to arrive from Karachi for their consent.
A number of students including VC arrived at hospital but the reason behind the sad incident is still unclear. Police said it was early to say whether she committed suicide or had been murdered.
Kumari was enrolled in the university’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme and was a final-year student.
The university’s vice chancellor, Aneela Atta-ur-Rahman, said in this regard they had formed a committee to probe Kumari’s alleged suicide. It would be headed by the principal of Larkana’s Chandka Medical College, she added.
The late student’s parents, who live in Karachi, had been informed, the VC added.
Police, on the other hand, said they had sealed Kumari’s room and were conducting an investigation in this regard.
