The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Islamabad has busted a drug smuggler from new Islamabad Airport and seized 900 grams of Hasheesh.
According to details, a person namely Riaz was trying to smuggle hashish in peanut packets but authorities foiled a bid to smuggle hashish in peanut packets from Islamabad International Airport to Dubai.
Riaz was carrying a bag full of peanuts, packed in plastic bags, ANF Customs Authorities during routine checking at the airport intercepted, when packed were opened, they find almost one-kilogram Hasheesh hidden in the peanut shells.
Drugs smuggler was arrested on the spot, and a case was registered against him. Riaz was carrying three to four packets and the weight of the seized drug was 900 grams, according to the authorities.
A case under smuggling drug act was registered against the accused.
In January this year, Pakistan Customs officials recovered heroin and Crystal methamphetamine, more popularly known ‘Ice and Glass’, concealed inside the shoes from a passenger who was attempting to smuggle the drugs to Sharjah, UAE.
The value of seized contraband has been estimated at Rs15 million, officials said, adding that a case has been registered against the accused.
