Islamabad High Court Bans All Circus, Gift and Game Shows During Ramzan

The Islamabad High Court(IHC), has decided to ban all game shows and “Nelaam Ghar shows” this holy month of Ramzan.

The IHC has ordered all the TV channels that no game shows or programs like that will be shown during the coming ramzan in Pakistan. The court has also ordered to air Azaan five times a day.

The court took the decision during the hearing of the case regarding code of conduct of morning shows and ramzan transmissions. IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddique issued orders for all the Tv channels to play Azaan five times a day.

Director General of Pakistan Electronic Media regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and representatives from all other regulatory bodies of media were present in the court during the hearing.

The IHC also banned any Neelam Ghar (game show) or circus show in Ramzan. Justice Siddiqui said that they would not let anyone make fun of

the religion. He said that it is state’s responsibility to protect Islamic identity and ideology.

The court also told Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) that no game shows will be aired this Ramzan.
