Samantha Mears, 20, from Montana, broke into her ex’s house and assaulted him while holding a machete to his throat gets 20 years in prison.
A District Court judge Tuesday sentenced Mears in connection with her arrest last year for breaking into the victim’s Great Falls home and assaulting him.
Mears’s case was placed on hold shortly after her June 2018 arrest when doctors hired by prosecutors and defense counsel concurred that she was, at the time, not fit for trial.
Court was told, Mears had broke into the victim’s home while he was out at the gas station, upon his arrival, Mears came out from behind a bedroom door, and placed a machete under his throat.
She take off her clothes and then start ordering her ex to get on the bed, take off his dress as well. Victim told police that he also could not control himself, after seeing wild Mears with no clothes.
Mears climbed on him, when it was over, Mears continued to sit on the bed still armed with a machete with her back against the victim.
Both had an argument and the man eventually fled the residence and called 911. She was arrested and charged with assault without consent, aggravated burglary and criminal mischief.
Mears was sentenced to 20 years in the custody of the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services (DPHHS). She was ordered to have no contact with the victim and was prohibited from possessing any weapons.
