Girl, 17m Questioned and Man, 22, Charged after 2 Homeless set on Fire in Croydon

Police have charged a man, 22, with arson and attempted grievous bodily harm after two homeless men were set on fire as they slept

Montel Nowhia-Job, faced Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday for the attacks which took place in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police have charged Montel Nowhia-Job , 22, with arson and attempted grievous bodily harm after two homeless men were set on fire as they slept. Two incidents were reported, one in the area of George Street, Croydon.

The two incidents were reported in the area of George Street and Surrey Street in Croydon, south London.

Two men were treated by the London Ambulance Service for minor burns. Sleeping bags and other property were also set alight.

Police officers stopped and arrested Nowhia-Job and a girl, 17, at 5am on Wednesday on George Street in Croydon.

The 17-year-old girl was released on bail until a date in July.

Detectives believe others may have been targeted and are appealing for any other victims



to come forward.
