Four British Pakistani Men Killed in a Car Crash after Police Chase in Bradford

4 men killed in car crash at 5.30am on Bingley Road, at the junction with Toller Lane after police chase. One of the dead men has been named locally as Muthaza Choudhury Murthi, 22. Two other victims have been named online as Zeeshan Khalid and 21-year-old Arbaz Hussain, while a fourth is currently identified only as Tayyub.

A statement from them said: “We have launched an investigation after a fatal crash in Bradford this morning.

“At about 5.30am a BMW crashed on Toller Lane, Bradford. Tragically, the four men inside the BMW have died.

“It is understood, at this time, that the car was being followed by an unmarked police car at the time of the crash.”

IOPC Regional Director Miranda Biddle said: “This is a most tragic incident and our sympathies are with the family and friends of those who have died.

“West Yorkshire Police made a mandatory referral to the IOPC and at 6.24am we declared an independent investigation. Our investigators are attending post incident procedures, have travelled to the scene and have begun gathering evidence.”

Describing the victims as “youngsters”, he added: “It’s incredibly sad to hear about it, your heart goes out to their parents.”
