A father who assaulted his 15-year-old daughter after mistaking her for his wife has been jailed for two-and-a-half years in Hong Kong.
Construction worker, 59, returned home after being drunk and crawled into his daughter’s bed on the night of March 22 last year.
Hid daughter tried to tell her father but she was unable to stop the drunken man. He stopped in the middle after realising he’d mixed up the two.
The girl told a psychologist she held no grudges against her father and had forgiven him, court documents reveal.
The victim girl is furious with her social worker, who reported the case to police without her consent, and accused her of splitting up her family.
The father to avoid the identification of his daughter – was offered to plead guilty to a charge of incest, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years, to avoid charge that could result in life behind bars.
But he refused to put his family through the ordeal of a trial and pleaded guilty to avoid doing so.
The court heard the construction worker was born in mainland China and married his wife there before moving to Hong Kong by himself in the late 1970s.
The couple were reunited in Hong Kong in 2000 and went on to have their daughter and a son.
