Terrell Derrick Funches, 20, and an unidentified 16-year-old female were charged Tuesday for the Dec. 7 death of Altaf Hussain Malik, 44, the Houston Police Department said.
Houston police said Altaf Hussain Malik, 43, was found at an apartment complex on Truxillo in Third Ward on December 7. Investigators said his body was covered in trash bags near a dumpster.
Malik’s wife, Qurat-ul-ain Malik, said someone had expressed interest about the 2009 Audi A8 the family was selling.
Qurat-ul-ain Malik told her husband finished dinner and rushed out to show the vehicle to the interested buyer. He told me that he received a text on the phone and somebody wanted to see the car.
The family had posted and ad on the internet to sale their black, 2009 A8 on Texas plates HZX-9910.
She told, her husband left after dinner to meet the potential buyer, but never returned. Houston police said Altaf Malik was stabbed to death on Thursday around 11:10 p.m.
His body was found covered
Investigators were able to trace the suspects using the LetGo app the victim used to sell his vehicle.
According to reports, the suspects were searching, “How to hide a body and get away from the police” on their phones.
Malik had four children. His wife said there have been many restless nights knowing the suspects were still out there but now they have some peace of mind.
