Aqib Pervaiz, aged 26, of Rochford Gardens, Slough, was charged with one count of murder of 24-year-old Nadeem Uddin Hameed Mohammed of Southall, in the car park of Tesco in Wellington Street.
Victim was stabbed at about 12.30pm on Wednesday, May 8. Mr Mohammed was taken to hospital after the incident in Wellington Street but was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination, which was carried out on Friday, May 10, confirmed the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
Reports in the Indian media quote a family friend of Nadeem’s in his home town in Hyderabad as saying that Nadeem’s parents and wife called the supermarket management when he did not return home and that security staff found his body.
It is believed that his wife only joined him in England a month ago and is pregnant. He is understood to have come to London in 2012 after graduating from college.
Mr Mohammed’s next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers and a murder investigation is ongoing.
Police believe the victim and attacker were known to each other and do not believe this was a random attack.
Pervaiz, who was arrested yesterday 9th may has been remanded in custody and will appear before Reading Magistrates’ Court tomorrow 11th May.
