Two men have been sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court for beating a man during a fight which led to the death of a 29 year old man. (Patrick Oyeri)
Abbas Issa, 18, of Isleworth pleaded guilty on the very first day of his trial on 26 February to violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Daniel Qureshi, 19, of Hounslow was found guilty at the same court after a trial on March 12 to violent disorder and possessing a pointed or bladed article.
Both men were sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on 24 May 2018.
Abbas Issa was jailed for three and half years behind bars. Two years and six months for possession of an offensive weapon and one year for dangerousness for violent disorder.
Hi friend, Daniel Qureshi was jailed for four years behind bars. He was handed a three year sentence for possession of an offensive weapon and one year for dangerousness for violent disorder.
Islington Crown Court heard, how a witness saw the fight that took place between two groups in Hounslow, Rosebery Road on 4th September 2017.
Witnesses had told how some of the thugs were armed with big knifes and were swinging at each-other.
The police were reported of the incident and when they arrived, they saw a white VW golf drove off and failed to stop for the police.
Other thugs that were involved scattered away and the police found victim Patrick Oyeri, 29, with deep stab wounds on his chest.
After the Ambulance service were called they tried to save Patrick Oyeri but he died at the scene.
The following day, a post mortem examination was conducted and the cause of death was due to a stab wound.
Police officers from the (HMCC) Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command launched an investigation and the arrest of the thugs followed after.
Daniel Qureshi was taken into custody and was taken to south London police station.
While Qureshi was in his cell, a police doctor seen him and noted a three inch stab wound to his right thigh.
Qureshi tolf the police doctor that he couldn’t remember how he got the deep cut on his thigh.
During investigation, picture footage were found of Qureshi hopping into West Middlesex hospital on the day of the brutal attack.
Dniel Qureshi was charged on 20th September 2017.
Abbas Issa went on the run and his mother reported him missing on 7 September 2017.
The officers discovered, Issa had gone abroad to Tanzania two days after the incident but was taken into custody at Heathrow Airport when he returned and charged.
The police arrested other men during the investigation.
Two men aged 23 and 25 year old were taken into custody but released.
A 33 year old man was charged with violent disorder but had no evidence offered on 31 January 2018.
A 19 year old man arrested but was released under investigation.
Detective Inspector Mark Long from the HMCC said: ”I am glad that two people who were involved in the events leading up to Patrick’s murder have been brought to justice. This was a terrible event in which a young man lost his life, leaving a family bereft and struggling to understand why this tragedy happened.

Patrick Oyeri’s mother, said: ”Patrick’s death was a big shock to me and to the all family, we don’t know if we will ever recover from it and we hope the truth will come out.”
